Our Story
Michael Heritage spent seven years as a captive agent before he opened Heritage Insurance Group in 2001. The frustration was simple: clients would come to him after a rate increase and he could only tell them the price was the price. He couldn’t shop for them. He couldn’t fix it.
As an independent agency, that changed. When a carrier raises rates, Heritage shops the market. When a client’s situation changes — a teenage driver, a home renovation, a new business — Heritage finds coverage that matches the new reality, not the old policy.
Today Heritage Insurance represents more than 20 carriers across personal and commercial lines, and has been named a Top 10 Independent Agency in the Charlotte Business Journal four times.

Michael founded Heritage Insurance Group in 2001 after 7 years at a captive agency. He specializes in commercial lines and has placed coverage for some of Charlotte's most complex small business risks.
Commercial Lines Specialist
Anna handles business owners policies, workers comp, and professional liability for Heritage's commercial clients. She holds a CPCU designation and has 14 years of commercial underwriting experience.
